We know during those 6 weeks(!) of summer school holidays, there are days when you're looking for a little inspo on things to see and do. Let us help you with that.
Here are some fun things happening these school holidays you might want to mark on the calendar.
Encounter – Take the kids on an augmented reality scavenger hunt
Part digital scavenger hunt, part augmented reality, Encounter is like nothing you’ve ever experienced in Frankston before. To begin, you’ll need to download the EyeJack app, then unlock the clues that solve the riddles to reveal the secret locations of seven different artworks.
From watching the moon spin behind a giant skeleton to listening as a wise old soul plays you a tune, the artworks are truly out of this world. It's the perfect family activity to explore and discover the city.
The Encounter experience is available until March 2022
Head to the water
Peninsula Waterbikes are super easy, and fun; and a great way to discover our beautiful coast. Easy to ride and navigate they’re just like riding a bike! You can even pop on an inflatable deck that attaches to the back, perfect for kids to enjoy the ride too.
Looking for something more traditional? Hire a boat, kayak or stand up paddle board for an afternoon of bay cruising and fishing from Frankston Boat Hire. Open every day (subject to weather) you'll find them at Kananook Creek, at the end of Davey St.
Do you have a little art enthusiast?
How does kite colouring and street art sound for a pretty cool combination?
Join us for some creative, quirky fun these school holidays. Starting with kite colouring at the Frankston Library, followed by a guided Street Art walking tour that has been uniquely tailored with kids in mind. What a great way for kids to discover Frankston’s amazing Street Art scene!

Make a splash these school holidays at PARC!
Join the best pool party on the Peninsula these summer holidays, with hours of activities and entertainment kids of all ages will enjoy.
There’s loads of fun to be had with the popular inflatable Splashtown obstacle course, Constrictor and Python waterslides, as well as the multi-level Aquatic Playground. The entertainment doesn't stop outside the water, with a Centre scavenger hunt, visits from loveable mascot Hydro and interactive activities with prizes to be won!
PARC’s holiday program will run from 11.00am – 3.00pm weekdays between 10 - 28 January, including the Australia Day public holiday. Time slots for Splashtown obstacle course are FREE as part of a PARC Swim membership

NGV Kids on Tour at McClelland
NGV Kids on Tour offers children and families throughout regional and metropolitan Victoria the opportunity to engage with art and creativity through a range of free hands-on activities and workshops, January 19th & 20th
This summer, McClelland Sculpture Park + Gallery is one of the tour destinations! Suitable for children aged 3+ and adults of all ages and abilities there will be some fun and creative activities created by the artists and team of NGV Kids on tour.
Whalebone, at the Frankston Arts Centre
Perfect for kids aged 7-12 years and their families, Whalebone is brought to you by the imaginative mind of tinkerer, inventor and comedian Jens Altheimer!
Taking place on Wednesday January 19th, the story is told through dazzling video and computer animations, quirky contraptions, robotics, clunky inventions and flying objects that will capture the imagination of young minds! Physical reality turns virtual and back in this gripping family show about what makes us humans human.
