Frankston Brewhouse, by The Brewski Bloke
Recently one of Frankston local brewers on the city's Beer and Spirits Trail, Frankston Brewhouse was paid a visit from ‘The Brewski Bloke’.
Here's how his experience went and what we had to say..
‘Recently I’ve paid a visit to Frankston Brewhouse for a cheeky paddle so I brought the missus & we had a feed too!
?? A socially approachable vibe on entry starting on the right we have the Ambassador Pale Ale at 5.2% a slight pine bite to taste to make this Pale good, the froth stuck to the glass & came with a honey? colour too. Next up their Harold Hop IPA at 5.6% a tangy rich malt taste with the colour like the red tattooine sun; a solid IPA. My favourite, the Pope's Eye Porter at 4.3% it's deliciously sweet like honey & dark choc? mixed & with a slight sparkle of froth; preaching a trifecta of chocolate of smell, colour & taste & the potential of being a year round Easter beer. Next their limited release ? Funkytown Sour at 4.8% looks of apple juice but tastes of cider & white wine had a baby making a light sour; the perfect switch from wine/cider to sour beer. Last but not least but just as limited we have Arthur's Wheat at 5.1% a cloudy colour that brings the frothy rim & a faint taste of a banana lolly? it's definitely different that sure makes it tasty too.
?Main Course!
First the Hot Wings? & my God were they juicy, crispy & hot & definitely came with a kick too; they had this Blue cheese sauce that was funky but oddly good??as well. Beef Sliders came next with a brisket made in house that fell apart, a bouncy bun, jalepenos & a slaw to make a balanced pair. The house favourite Sauteed Mixed Mushrooms with a pine nut sauce, garlic crutons & pulled burrata? perfectly cooked & best enjoyed as a cheeky half sandwich? Last up we had the Soft Shell Crab Tacos? Juicy crabs? tomatoes, lettuce, purple cabbage & Chipotle Mayo made it down right bloody good!
Safe to say if the beer doesn't take your fancy then the food will & what's a cheeky paddle with friends & some tasty food too. Before leaving there was one? I forgot & that was the Long Island Lager at 5% a light colour, a crispy taste, a hint of floral too, a faint froth ring that sits until the end.
Off I go belly full of tasty beers & delicious food? 6 of my favourites from the night!
Get down to Frankston Brewhouse, they won't disappoint.'
