Free Christmas Activities
Between 4.30 and 9.30pm the Frankston Arts Centre, Cube 37 and the Frankston Library will be a-buzz with free Christmas activities for all of the family to enjoy. From Christmas craft to a Looney Tunes Christmas Extravaganza live on stage, a family portrait for the photo wall and don’t forget a visit to Santa’s House. It's all here in the arts, entertainment and activity hub.

Frankston Arts Centre Activities
Looney Tunes Christmas Extravaganza Live Stage Show
Frankston Arts Centre Theatre
5pm, 6pm, 7pm and 8pm
It's a Looney Christmas Extravaganza! Join Bugs, Tweety and Sylvester as they help our host put on an all-singing, all-dancing Christmas show, featuring some pop hits and Christmas favourites.
Make sure you schedule in to see one of the four free shows in the Frankston Arts Centre theatre during the festival. Shows run for approximately 20-25 minutes, are free to attend, and cannot be booked in advance. Admission will be on a first come first served basis (capacity is limited). Looney Tunes – Daffy Duck Meet and Greet

Head to the foyer in the Frankston Arts Centre to meet the one and only Daffy Duck! Daffy will be running Meet and Greet sessions, appearing every 30 minutes at 4.30pm, 5.30pm, 6.30pm and 7.30pm, ready for high-fives, waves and good times. Return to top
Ugly Christmas Sweater Photo Shoots

Awkward Portraits is Melbourne's original and best provider of (intentionally) daggy portraiture. Taking normal good-looking people, they dress them in horrid outfits, place them in uncomfortable poses, and photograph them for years of enjoyment! Visit Frankston Arts Centre to have your chance to be part of the fun!
Costumes and props are provided, unless you want to come fully equipped in your own daggy Christmas attire. Due to the demand for this free activity, this will be available on a first come, first served basis.

Festive Craft Activities

St Luke’s Anglican Church, Frankston Church of Christ and Maranatha Church Fellowship will be offering free festive crafts throughout the evening. Imagine colourful Christmas baubles and star ornaments made from recycled Christmas cards that you can take home to hang on the tree or make your very own wrapping paper. Join us for an enchanting Storytime experience at the Frankston Library every hour at 4:30, 5:30, 6:30, and 7:30pm (special Story Time with Mrs Claus), lasting around 25 delightful minutes.
Story time with Mrs Claus - 7.30pm*
Join us for a magical Story Time with Mrs. Claus. Gather around as the beloved Mrs. Claus shares enchanting Christmas tales that will bring the spirit of Christmas to life through storytelling. Don’t miss out on this experience—Mrs. Claus is waiting to share her favourite story and spread some Christmas joy! *Other story time sessions are also scheduled for 4.30pm, 5.30pm &, 6.30pm, inside the library
Sensory Space - 4.30-8.00pm
Peninsula Autism Friendship Group is an autistic-led, non-profit organisation providingconnection and support to neurodivergent individuals and their families.We will be offering a calm sensory space for families who need a break from the excitementof the Frankston Christmas Festival. The space will include sensory activities, space tounwind, and supportive facilitators.
Dive into the world of books, sing your favourite songs, and dance along with our talented storytellers. Plus, keep an eye out for some very special surprise guests throughout the evening!
Don’t forget to write and send your letter to Santa while you’re here!
Our friendly staff will be on hand to share all the amazing free services the Library offers, including fantastic events for both kids and adults. Sign up for a Library membership that night and you’ll also be entered into a draw for a wonderful holiday book hamper!
If you need a little quiet time, the library is the perfect retreat. Enjoy a soothing children’s Christmas movie in the cozy Long Room, complete with kick bricks and Duplo toys to help you unwind.

Frankston Library Giving Tree
In partnership with local charities Frankston Life Community and Community Support Frankston, Council is encouraging residents to support our local community by gifting non-perishable food items and toys to the Frankston City Libraries Christmas Giving Tree.Food items suitable for donation include canned fruit or vegetables, packets of cereal, pasta, rice, biscuits and pre-cooked desserts (for example: puddings, fruit cake, mince pies) containers of jam, spreads and sauces. (No alcohol please).
Non-perishable items donated at the giving tree will be passed on to local people struggling this Christmas. Hampers with the donated items will be distributed at the Frankston Life Community Christmas Lunch. Donations of brand new toys for all age ranges are also welcome. Donated gifts can also include, books, colouring books, pencils and other items suitable for children to use and play with all year round. (Items that have been used cannot be accepted)
Community Support Frankston Inc. is a not-for-profit community support agency which provides services including emergency food, grocery vouchers, help with utility bills, referrals and advocacy for people who live, or work in the City of Frankston.
Start your night at Frankston's Christmas Festival by donating to this great community cause. Donations are being accepted until Friday 20th December.

Melbourne Puppet Kerfuffle

Melbourne Puppet Kerfuffle's colourful and family-friendly puppets will delight you with a fun storyline, hilarious jokes, catchy songs, and plenty of puppet surprises! The puppet performance is designed for all ages and runs for approximately 30 minutes.
Melbourne Puppet Kerfuffle presents "Surprise, Surprise- It's Christmas!". Join Chris as he searches for the perfect Christmas surprise at his local all-puppet-run prank shop. The puppets have loads of ideas, many of which may not be particularly helpful! Will Chris find what he's looking for? What surprises do the puppets have in store? Join us as we laugh, sing, and get silly, as well as find out some of the things that puppets can do that humans can't!
Melbourne Puppet Kerfuffle is the brainchild of Chris Elkington and Rob Irvin, who have been performing together since 2021. They love performing puppets to people of all ages in schools, kinders, aged-care centres, libraries, events and festivals in Victoria and interstate. They know that puppets speak to (are heard by) people in surprising ways and aim to bring puppet joy into people's lives.Return to top
Hot Arts – Christmas Ornament Making Activity

Join Mornington Peninsula artists, Amanda Nelson, as she shows us how to transform simple, often recycled or easily accessible materials into gorgeous and unique Christmas ornaments. A free interactive program or young people aged 4+ and their guardians, this Hot Arts for Cool Kids activity is a wonderful way for families to explore artistic expression together at Frankston's Christmas Festival.
Stardust Fairies Face Painting

Our Stardust Fairies will be designing unforgettable face-painting creations for all ages from 1 to 100 years old at Frankston's Christmas Festival. Our whimsical face painting will invite and transform your little sprites into glittering fairies, festive reindeers, snowflakes, or their favourite holiday elf, crafted with love and creativity by our amazing fairy artists.
Stardust Fairies don’t just paint faces, we create magic. With a focus on inclusivity, our team welcomes children of all backgrounds, abilities, and needs, ensuring that everyone feels seen, celebrated, and part of the festive magic. Our interactive storytelling, seasonal games, and interactive activities bring families together in a safe, joyous environment, full of giggles and Christmas cheer.

Mermaid Tarielle

Driven by a deep love for the ocean and performance, Tarielle has mastered the art of storytelling through her enchanting mermaid character, creating memorable moments for all ages. Her one-of-a-kind mermaid tail is designed with intricate detail, offering a lifelike and incredibly realistic experience, bringing the magic of the ocean to life!

Fizz Kidz

Come and join Fizz Kidz at the Frankston Christmas Festival, where kids can dive into festive fun by making their own Christmas Crowns and Snow Globes! The craft station will be offering everything they need to create these magical holiday keepsakes, perfect for bringing the Christmas spirit home.
