PROGRAM OF PERFORMANCES
1pm - Donde Mama Verena - Serving Columbian dish - Carimañolas
Donde Mama prepares Colombian food full of her Caribbean love and flavours. On this occasion she will be preparing Carimañolas, which is a deep-fried puff, made with cassava dough in a torpedo shape and filled with beef. It's always a party when Mama is in the house!
2pm - The Pie Piper - Serving cup cakes
The Pie Piper is putting on a sugary spectacle at the Waterfront Festival in the World Kitchen! Watch this hilarious, sweet-talking pastry pro whip up food art, charm the crowd, and lead the rats out of town. Expect comedy, physical theatre, and a whole lot of icing fun.
3pm - Manel Devi - Serving Malaysian
Manel’s bringing the heat with Malaysian Green Chilli Tofu and a twist on dessert – Sage Pudding! Growing up cooking with family and friends in Malaysia, she’s excited to share her vibrant flavors with us. Get ready for a taste of tradition with a dash of fun.
4pm - Amy Bartholomeus - Serving Sri Lankan, Parippu
Amy’s bringing a taste of Sri Lanka with her dad’s traditional lentil curry, aka Parippu. Inspired by her roots in Colombo, this dish is packed with rich flavors and family history. Come enjoy a bowl of comfort and spice – Amy’s got the recipe for a perfect meal.
5pm - Remi Abdulrahman Alraimi (Remi) - Serving Yemen dish, Kabsa
Join Remi Abdulrahman Alraimi for a taste of Yemen’s rich history with his signature Kabsa! This aromatic rice dish, inspired by Bedouin tribes, blends tender meat (lamb or chicken) and spices into a comforting, flavorful experience. Each bite brings you closer to the heart of the Arabian Peninsula.
6pm - Marim Youssif - Serving Egyptian dish, Falafel
Get ready for Marim Youssif’s Egyptian twist on falafel – Ta'ameya! Unlike the usual chickpea version, Marim’s falafel is made with dried fava beans for a rich, unique flavor. Straight from Egypt to your plate, it’s a must-try for anyone craving something authentic and delicious.
7pm - Kim Chua - Serving Chinese/Malaysian dish, Chinese Wonton Soup
Kim’s Wonton Soup is the ultimate easy dinner! With her years of experience, she’s perfected the art of making wontons ahead of time, freezing them for a quick and tasty meal. Plus, she’s served up meals for the Neighbourhood Justice Centre. Quick, delicious, and full of heart.
