Follow the potential
Following a recent statement from Victorian Premier, the Hon Jacinta Allan MP and the Department of Transport and Planning, we are looking forward to the long-awaited approval of the Frankston Metropolitan Activity Centre Structure Plan and planning scheme amendment C160fran.
For 20 years the heart of Frankston City Centre has been without a tailored planning framework or detailed guidance. Our Structure Plan provides a very clear strategic vision for the City Centre focusing on land use, housing, built form, employment, streetscapes, open spaces, and transportation options within the area; essentially outlining how the city centre will grow and change over the next two decades. It brings with it greater community clarity, increased investor confidence and reasonable safety controls to stop over and inappropriate development.
And now as we move forward we will be able to support the delivery of a significant number of new homes for the municipality of Frankston, in line with the State Government’s proposed Plan for Victoria and draft housing targets.
The Strategic Development Unit works collaboratively with property owners and prospective developers to attract quality housing, jobs and investment into the FMAC and the municipality as a whole.
