In the heart of Langwarrin lies the Langwarrin Flora and Fauna Reserve - a hidden gem that offers a winter playground for nature lovers. With its picturesque walking tracks, native flora and fauna and opportunities for bird watching, it provides a tranquil space where you can truly connect with nature. The reserve is a beautiful place for quiet recreational activities including cycling, jogging, nature study and photography. So what are you waiting for? Grab your coat, slip on your boots (or runners if you’re in the mood for some exercise!) and immerse yourself in the beauty of this calming reserve.

Frankston Nature Conservation Reserve is a 9-hectare reserve located in Frankston South, just a short drive from the city centre. Here you can explore native plants and trees, wildlife and you can take a peaceful leisurely walk through the park. In addition to canoeing and kayaking, you can also hone your SUP skills making this the perfect place to enjoy a variety of winter water adventures.

Winter at Sweetwater Creek brings an incredible set of experiences that showcases the natural beauty of the area. Take a peaceful stroll along the creeks walking trails, under lush tree canopies and bridges over rock pools whilst listening to the soothing sounds of the flowing water. While you’re exploring, you may want to capture the stunning landscapes with your camera, or simply take a moment to pause to embrace the tranquility.

Frankston Beach takes on a whole new feel in winter. Take a walk or jog along the coastline, enjoy the water views and feel the fresh air on your face. A great way to clear your head and warm your heart. If you’re in need of a coffee fix or hot drink to defrost, check out Little Olly's or Picoletta, found at the base of Oliver’s Hill – always super popular with the locals!

The water may be on the cooler side right now, but if you’re up to a winter swim and need some extra encouragement we know just the people who can help! The Cold Water Club community meet at 10am every Sunday morning at the Oliver’s Hill Boat Ramp Jetty if you’re keen to take the plunge and see what its all about. This will be sure to get your heart racing!

For our furry friends, check out the Seaford Dog Beach, where dogs can swim freely, play and run over 200 metres of sandy shores within the allocated markers – a pups winter paradise!
